I’ve been thinkin’, I’ve been thinkin’… *Beyonce voice*. Serious question here- Does being a natural hair blogger mean that your hair should always be on point? Are natural hair bloggers allowed a bad hair day? Should you have all the answers?
Hear me out.
I don’t consider myself a “guru” by any means, and sometimes I even use the title “natural hair blogger” loosely, just because I don’t want to align myself with those who have professional expertise in the hair world. I do realize, however, that I am a writer that just so happens to enjoy learning and writing about natural hair and that with that comes a level of responsibility to at least keep my hair in check. This question wasn’t inspired by any specific experience, but its definitely something I’ve been thinking about lately as I try different products and techniques, or on the days when I just don’t feel like giving my hair affection. What are people thinking?
As I said, this wasn’t inspired by any particular event or experience, but that’s not to say that I haven’t had one of those “please don’t judge me, its one of those days” moments. I do remember one day when I went to visit with a family member *who shall remain nameless to protect the innocent* when they asked me if I tried something new on my hair because it wasn’t as shiny as it usually is. Gulp. Oh, okay.
Yes, natural hair bloggers are human and humans deserve bad hair days … but what are you REALLY thinking when you see a Blogger/Vlogger and their hair isn’t together?
Leave a comment for me, I really want to know!
