Camille Rose Naturals Style Setter Review

camille rose naturals, product review, style setter, coconut water collection, natural hair blogger, the little in jen that could

This cream styler is everything. Im sure I’ve said that for just about every product I’ve tried by Camille Rose Naturals, but this product right here is the truth. My curls are on cloud nine right now. I can see every curve of every plump coil. My hair feels “set” but not hard or crunchy by any means. It feels…healthy.

The consistency of this cream is super smooth, but light. I had my doubts about it working for my hair texture initially, but I actually love how well it complimented my hair.

The bad: Im drawing a blank here.

The truth: I love the style setter, I think its just what my hair has been missing. Ive always known creams work better than gels or heavy butters for my hair — a lot of products either sit on top of my hair and block moisture, or weigh my curls down, making me look like a wet poodle. This styler gives me the moisture and hold that I need, without having to sacrifice volume or  curl definition. I love it!

I love that Camille Rose Naturals came out with a coconut water line because for the longest, I was convinced that my hair hated coconut oil. I even wrote a post about it.  Using this line gave me confidence to reintroduce coconut  into my hair regimen, and im still experimenting with different ways to try to keep my curls as happy as possible. The style setter also gave me the confidence to rock a one product wash and go, which I LOVE. I mean, thats pillow talk right there. One product wash and go. Yeees!!

This product can be purchased via my affiliate link through Target, here!

    Hey Jen,
I’m so glad I found your channel. We have similar hair properties such as having fine loose curly hair, low porosity and our hair not liking certain ingredients. Like my hair can look awesome before I try to seal it with an oil then the frizzies appear. I’m glad I found your review on the Camille Rose Naturals Coconut water style setter because I was looking for a cream styler but was scared to try a few in fear of my hair not responding well to it. I placed my order with Target yesterday for the style setter. I also want to try the CR ALMOND JAI butter just to alternate between the two. Again I’m happy I found almost a “hair twin”. How would you compare the style setter and almond jai butter?

Oh my goodness yes, we are hairmates! Your experience with oil sealing hit the nail on the head for me. This happens for me no matter what order I apply the oil in my regimen! As far as the two cream stylers from Camille Rose Naturals, I’d have to say its a close call. The Style Setter is more of an actual styler for me- it provides more hold and “sets” the curls better. The almond jai works great as a styler, leave in, or moisturizer- it doesn’t provide as much hold but it’s definitely more moisturizing! I hope that helps? Btw, hey hair twin!!

        Hey Jen,
Thx for the reply. I think I’m going to try the style setter first and see how that goes. Thx

        Hey Jen,
Sorry to bother you but I have a few ?s. Do you use a oil or a leave-in under the style setter? And where can I find xtreme wet gel? I’m using curl junkie curl queen as of now but wanted something that I can find on ground and that’s less expensive. Thx

Ok so I used the style setter. I used it with curl junkie beauticurls leave in and too much style setter. Results were very frizzy hair and some defined spots as I believe my hair has about four different textures and curl patterns throughout it.
Next I will try using it alone and maybe with alittle curl junkie curl queen on top. This is my first impression of the style setter.

    Hey Jen!!!
So I’ve been playing around with the style setter. First the curl junkie leave-in was a no-go paired with the style setter. I’ve tried it alone and I believe I used too much(I’m heavy handed) and I didn’t like the results. I recieved a sample of the coconut water leave-in treatment and I paired it with the style setter and BAM just like that the magic began. I love the leave-in treatment a lot. I just recieved my full bottle( I’m a product junkie as well) and I plan on trying the almond jai as well. Thx Jen for your awesome reviews.

Thank you love, I’ll definitely have more reviews coming soon! Great minds surely think alike– I’ve been thinking about giving the coconut water leave in another try. I remember I wasn’t crazy about it but I can’t remember why; this time I’ll take notes! I’m thinking about trying the Curl Junkie leave in also ( forget the name, but the one without glycerin). You know I’ll keep you updated on that too!

        Hey Jen,
The coconut water leave-in is the truth but the style setter was too heavy for my hair. I gave it to my sons. I did try the almond jai and fell in love. I use it with the curl maker which is also my boo. I get consistent results everytime i use those products. I’m in awe with my hair these days with using camille rose products. Again thx for the reviews.

    Hey Jen!
I just wanted to let you know that I gave Camille Rose Coconut Water Style Setter a second chance. I ordered it directly from the home site and I must say that I truly LOVE it as a leave in under the curl maker. My hair stays moisturized for a good 3 days and I probably could go longer but my scalp starts to itch and it begs for a good cleaning, lol. I took your advice about spritzing my hair with warm water before jumping in the shower. That routine is quite awesome since I don’t want to be playing in my hair everyday like I used to. So thx for the tip. Have a blessed weekend and I look forward to your reply.

Hi Cece! I don’t think I’ve tried that duo together, I’m so happy you love them!! Yaaay for the “spritzing” working for you too. In theory, it’s awesome because we’re adding moisture and allowing our hair to get a little humidity/steam to do the work for us! You’re so welcome love, I hope you had a beautiful weekend!

Hey Jen! Yes I also use the Almond Jai with the Curl Maker and I get awesome results with that as well. Have you tried CRN Aloe Whipped Butter Gel? I really like that product as well. I used the Coconut Water Leave-In treatment with that particular product. I think when I first used the style setter, I was suffering from protein overload and everything was just sitting on top of my hair and not penetrating. Camille Rose products are awesome, I just love them. She also has a Holiday Collection out that I plan on purchasing and it is said to smell like gingerbread cookies. I’m sorry for the rambling, but I love to talk about hair and hair products. Anyway have a very blessed night and enjoy the rest of your week. P.S. YOUR DAUGHTER IS BEAUTIFUL.

Thank you so much Cece!! We have that in common so it’s not rambling, just relating! 😉 I love Camille Rose too, but I have yet to try those other products. A few were on my wish list for Black Friday but I got a little carried away with baby products! I’m wishing you an amazing day ahead darling!

            Hey Jen!
I see that you use Gleau oil, what do you use it for?I’ve been eyeing for a while.

Hey love! I’m currently testing another oil but yes, LOVE Gleau! I usuaually use oil for sealing purposes, layering in between a leave in and a styler for a style. I want to get better at incorporating an oil in my deep conditioning /pre-poo regimen again!
