This past weekend I headed home to South Florida to spend time with my family. In channeling my inner minimalist, I was on a mission to pack one go-to product that both J and I could use, that would keep our hair in check without me having to spend too much time styling and prepping. I decided to bring along the Camille Rose Naturals Curlaide Moisture Butter for the ride, hoping that our new friend could withstand the challenge. Spoiler alert: It did!
Camille Rose Naturals Curlaide Moisture Butter Review (Used on both mommy AND baby)
The Good:
Our hair was for sure reaping the benefits of this creamy goodness. This moisture butter is seriously the gift that keeps on giving! I didn’t re-apply once during our 3 day trip, and our curls were just as soft and moisturized as they were on day one! For J’s hair, I spritzed with water, finger detangled, and re-did her pigtails each day… easy breezy. For my hair, I started with a wash and go in which I applied the Moisture Butter to wet hair, then applied a gel on top (my first wash and go with gel). On day two, I wet my finger tips and fluffed my hair a bit- nothing more was required. Day three I stood under the shower stream, touched my hair a bit, shook my head and went about my day. I didn’t detangle my hair or reapply any product because I’m trying to limit the amount of manipulation I do on a daily basis. My curls were still in tact, and I actually didn’t need to do any of the above because they were still defined from my wash and go days before!
The texture is similar to a thick whipped cream, and if you turned the jar upside down, no product would spill. I also noticed that this product is glycerin free which means it’s winter friendly, and I can definitely see it holding up in dryer climates!
Bonus: The Camille Rose products always leave me craving cupcakes, chai tea, or a little bit of both. The scent is truly delicious and unless smelling like a decadent dessert isn’t your thing- you’ll probably fall in love with the fragrance too. Admission: Sometimes when I’m craving sweets, I’ll pop in my bathroom and smell these products, and I swear it feels like I’ve had my fix!
The Bad:
$$. I love to love the products by Camille Rose Naturals, but the price point is the only thing that’s less than stellar. Be sure to stock up when they are on sale, otherwise you are looking at paying about $16 for the 8oz jar. If I can attest to anything, however, its the fact that the products do last you a while, and as mentioned above- a little really does go a long way.
The Truth:
I am in love with this Butter, for both J’s hair AND mine! I haven’t decided if the Moisture Butter or Jai Twisting Butter is best for my wash and go’s at this point but I’m glad I found another product that gives me great results, just in case one or the other is not around. I will probably do a full review comparing the two butters soon but as for this product, I like it and everything it stands for. Baby’s curls were happy, and mommy’s coils sang too! Win, win.
