I’ve always toyed with the idea of whitening my teeth, but beyond trying Whitening strips for a few solid days in high school (or college?) I’ve never gone through with the process. My Smile Brilliant Review. I’m sure you have gathered by now that I am in love with this brand. I did want to take a moment and share my honest feedback about the process as well. I love that you are walked through every step of the process, from taking the impressions to preparing for your whitening sessions. The super easy to follow instructions were helpful to have at your fingertips, and you also have an additional line of support via email, which you can use for additional questions or concerns. I will say, I recommend reading and re-reading the user manuals and instructions a few times. If you are a skimmer like myself, you will miss important information. For example, you are asked to place the gel into the trays closer to your teeth as opposed to your gum line. After the second time I experienced a “burning sensation” on my gums, I realized why! As peroxide is an important ingredient in this whitening process, you may experience some gum irritation. The instructions say that this is normal and suggest taking preventative measures such as putting coconut oil on your gums. It is important to mention, however, that the two times I experienced gum irritation, it was only DURING the whitening process (which didn’t last longer than 10 minutes in those instances) as it was subdued when I took the impressions off. The desensitizing gel of course, is a Godsend and the cooling helped calm the tingling/stinging I was feeling. Other than the slight gum irritation that I had twice, I loved thie whitening process. I started to pick up little tricks as I went, like starting at least 2.5 hours before my bedtime so I had a full whitening session and then time to desensitize, wait 30 minutes, then have a bedtime snack! I also agree with their recommendation to whiten at night instead of in the morning because you allow your teeth the chance to “rest” after your session. Plus– who wants to “undo” the work they just did by eating and retaining their teeth throughout the day?!
All in all, I appreciate how convenient this kit was. Boos, you need to try it.
I know that my subtle results were probably a result of me not whitening as consistently, for as long as I should have, but I am still so happy with my progress. Look at that after photo!
