Until recently, the idea of purchasing vitamins from a beauty brand seemed a little… far fetched. I still have no explanation of why I dismissed this concept in the past. Luckily, that all changed when I caught some amazing bundle deals from The Mane Choice and Mielle Organics, both of which came with kids gummies multivitamins! This serial drugstore vitamin gal may have been converted.  I’m so excited to finally bring you my review of the kids gummies from this two amazing brands. Of course J was excited to help me with testing and setting up a cute little photoshoot for this review too, so let’s jump into it!

I’m still floored that I managed to get my hands on a CurlBox kids bundle when it went on sale last month. It included the ENTIRE kids line (shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner AND moisturizer) as well as a bottle of the kids vitamins… for $20! Yes boos. This is by far the best sale I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t pass it up. The Mane Choice did not disappoint one bit with these vitamins. They are super cute and they taste just like candy. It’s like a treat without the guilt. (Well kids wouldn’t have guilt anyways, but definitely mom approved!) I’m also in love with the packaging– the curly haired little girl hugging her friends is so adorable! #Blackgirlmagic

Imagine my surprise when I realized that one of my favorite hair care brands carries a kids line! When I saw an awesome Black Friday deal for the bundle (that included the gummies) I knew I had to grab it, and I’m happy I did. These multivitamins are the first we tried that weren’t purchased in a drugstore, and I have to say we were impressed.

These gummy vitamins are pretty much identical in comparison, right down to their ingredients. Both brands use super cute bears as the gummy shape of choice, with yellow and orange vitamins. I love that the gummies are pretty true to flavor as well. Following citrus flavors, the yellow really has a hint of lemon, and the orange tastes SO much like orange candy! (Of course I had to run a taste test!) I love that the texture of these gummies is more chewy than rubbery, which is the problem we run into with a lot of other gummy vitamins. I would say the consistency is similar to fruit snacks, or gushers… minus the juice/syrup filling.

Can you tell a difference in the vitamins? Exactly. I would say making a decision in which vitamin to purchase would come down to price and/or brand loyalty.

The one thing I’m not crazy about is the price and quantity both brands provide. It’s hard to grasp paying $10 for 60 gummies– which is a one month supply as per the 2 gummy serving size– when some brands are the same price or a little cheaper for twice as many. I know the principle here is the fact that you are supporting Black owned businesses, that promise all natural ingredients and I totally support that. I also try to remind myself that just as when I’m selecting skincare or haircare products– or any lifestyle products really– quality is everything. Especially when you have clean, safe, and all natural options. So my children are no exception. Shopping smart is always a priority for me though, so when you decide to try either brand, I definitely urge you to research prices online (some retailers like Target will price match) and shop sales whenever possible.

As much as I love the vitamins– and just raved about their packaging a few paragraphs back– I would also love to see products that aren’t just catered to little girls. These are things I wouldn’t even have considered before having my son, but it really does put things into perspective, like wow… we need more gender neutral products for kids! Not that it should matter if your gummy vitamins come out of a jar covered with flowers or girls, but… just saying.

I do want to mention that both multivitamins are dairy and gluten free, and are loaded with vitamins from “A to Zinc!” They even include Biotin, which is great for healthy hair and nails. I compared the supplement information to that of other over the counter vitamins and the list of vitamins is the same!

All in all, J really loves taking these vitamins, and I’m not going to lie– I can totally see why. I’m praying for another sale from either brand (or both) so we can replenish because I would love to keep these within arms (and little finger’s) reach!

Thank you for reading loves … share this review if you found it helpful! Don’t forget to take your vitamins and say your prayers.

Xo.
